With hearts full of sorrow and gratitude, we announce the passing of Amber Wiebe, who died on April 15, 2025, in the ICU at Toronto General Hospital after facing catastrophic complications from Influenza B. Though her passing brings immense grief, her family and friends take comfort in knowing that Amber is now pain-free, released from a failing body, and soaring freely—ready to fly with the angels.
Amber leaves behind her two beloved children, Tenley and Carter, who were the center of her world. She was a fiercely devoted mother, always ensuring her children had joyful, love-filled lives, complete with summer pool parties, family gatherings, and precious adventures. Her spirit lives on in them, in the memories they made together, and in the trust fund established in her honor to support their futures.
She is also survived by her loving parents, Larry and Lynn Lyonnais, and Nan and Dave Rock, who supported her endlessly. Her brothers, Todd (Tara) and Rob Lyonnais, step-siblings, extended family, and many dear friends will deeply miss her radiant presence.
Amber was a force of nature. As a hardworking single mother and successful small business owner, she inspired many with her determination and heart. Her clients admired her not just for her skill, but for her warmth and infectious energy. Always the life of the party, Amber had a “joie de vivre” that was impossible to ignore—her laughter, her dancing, and her zest for life lit up every room she entered.
She found peace and joy at the lake, spending cherished moments at the cottage with loved ones. A passionate hiker and fitness enthusiast, Amber embraced life in motion. Her love for travel led her to many beautiful places, most recently to Maui in February, where she shared a memorable 10-day trip with her mom—a gift they both treasured.
Amber had a gift for capturing memories, always with a camera in hand. Today, those photos become priceless treasures, offering glimpses into the beautiful life she lived and the love she gave so freely.
A memorial service to honor Amber’s life will be held at Faith Church, 345 Fairview Ave., St. Thomas, on Friday, April 25 at 4:30 PM, followed by a reception and time of fellowship. A second celebration of her life will take place on her birthday, Saturday, June 21st, with details to be announced soon.
For those wishing to make a donation in Amber’s memory, contributions to the trust fund for her children are gratefully accepted, c/o Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas.
Amber’s light shone brightly, and though she is no longer with us, her love and spirit live on in every heart she touched. It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
Rest peacefully, sweet Amber. You will forever be the spark in our hearts.
